This is a first class piece by a new author. A hundred-odd people have read it, and you miserable buggers have been too mean to leave a comment. I'm ashamed of the lot of you. The author really would like some feedback. I think it's a great piece of writing, way above the ABC average.

FTSE, will you please marry me and have my babies? I'd settle for a boy and a girl, although I'd prefer a pig and a goat. You choose.

Oh dear now FTSE is angry. I read it. I really did. Honest. I thought it was excellent....like a lot of other writing here. Can I claim comment fatigue?

Thanks for the thread and the compliment. The story is still fairly rough...only one re-write so far. I'm getting ready for a second re-write though.

zappaneese - I'm not sure you should be thanking me for this. It's probably had the opposite to the intended effect - made people too embarrassed to comment. Act in haste; repent at leisure - they're singing my song!

Do you really think your piece needs a re-write? You could make it different, but could you really make it better? I didn't see anything in it that jars or feels wrong.
