I recommended this to someone else earlier and have just re-read it. T C Boyle's essay on how he became a writer. It's quite a laugh and is worth a look if you haven't read it. You'll probably identify with a lot of it. I've never thought much of his novels, but I love his short stories.

Thanks for posting Stan - t'was really funny, informative, and probably very reassuring to many, who are 'writers who don't write', at various times in their lives. I will have to get after some of his work now...

Hey Stan, I had already finished reading it. It's probably the only essay that had the power to keep me intrigued the entire way through. It was a laugh, and quite interesting. Thanks for recommending it!
