Ah, it's become a strange town since my time there, in the '70s. A cross between Glastonbury and Richmond-upon-Thames. Twinned with Narnia indeed!

ha ha, yes I've often thought that instead of trekking all the way up to Glastonbury, you could can easily just make do with Totnes market on a Friday afternoon :)

Oddly enough, I fit into what you might call the 'alternative' mould myself. So I should find Totnes congenial. But I suppose I knew it before, and cherish those memories. So now it's like finding a funfair in my own back garden: I want it... just not there!

haha :) well if you decorate that backyard with wind chimes and use it to practice your poi/tai chi then that's ok by Totnes terms....
