Hello all, I'm new to ABC tales and eager to get stuck into what looks like a really strong, productive community. I've already got one story posted (with plenty more to come), and as I understand it, the best way to gather interest for one's own writing is to comment on others'. I'm completely onboard with this - writing communities should be more than just a choir of ego-trips, and if I'm looking for others' interest and feedback then the least I can do is offer my own interest and feedback in return.
However, I've already tried to comment on several pieces, and the comments haven't appeared yet. Every time I post, I'm told that the comment is going to be checked before its authorised. Now, I generally give constructively critical feedback, pointing out what I see as positives, flaws and areas for improvement in stories. I try to be as pleasant and curteous as possible - never insulting, never degrading - so I don't think the checking process is blowing my comments out of the water on that ground. Can anyone offer any wisdom? Does it just take an age and a half for the comments to go through?
Many thanks, and hope to read some of your works soon!

You shouldnt be getting that message.
An admin will have to change your posting rights, or varify your account. Whichever the system is. Hopefully the comments are not lost.

Hi and welcome to the site!
I joined about three weeks ago and this happened to me to. It was only with the first couple of posts, though. It gave me that message, but I never went back to see if they were posted or not. On about the third day here, I posted another comment and it went through, without saying anything about checking or anything. Yours might be the same problem, or a different one. If it doesn't stop soon, you might do some good to contact the editor.
Hope this helped!

Hi, I joined a week ago and this happened on my first comments. It was a bit confusing initially but it's stopped now and my comments appear instantly. I think it's probably a process to stop spammers and the like.

Ah, that's a relief to hear. Well, it hasn't happened with these posts, so maybe my condition's been cured! Thanks for the help, guys.

It just takes a bit for it to work through the system. We do get there in the end - and you are now allowed to comment freely!
