We have always wanted ABCtales.com to be a safe space where you can come together with other people to share your writing. When you first begin to write you can feel extremely isolated, sat at your kitchen table scribbling away, trying to overcome embarrassment and uncertainty about undertaking what can seem such a strange thing to do.
We want to take away that sense of isolation, of feeling like a freak because you are doing something like writing. We think writing and claiming your creative voice is a normal part of life, and we want to make it possible for as many people as we can to feel comfortable in undertaking that process.
Often it seems there is nothing between being a shy faced scribbler and a confident, swaggering literary wunderkind. We know that writing is something that you only get better at as you actually do it, and that no writer arrives fully formed and ready for publication and bestseller status.
ABCtales.com is a place where you can learn and experiment and grow as a writer. We're here to support you as you develop, in any way that we can.
We're also here to provide a space where you can find support from other people in the same boat. We like to think that we're all learning and growing. We think that you can often learn a lot about your own writing by helping others to develop theirs.
We don't see ourselves as experts or authorities. There are many users of this site who have more expertise and experience than any of us who run it.
It is the users of this site who are its strength. Without those of you who share your writing, those of you who read that writing and those of you that give up your time to help others to progress and grow there would be no ABCtales.com.
We are using ABCtales to create the situation and the opportunities; it is all of you who read and use the site that makes good things happen here.
