Wigging Out
To compensate, or at least provide light relief, from serious threads how about a top ten 'wig out' list? What will get you on the dance floor (often the more cliched the better)
(can include heavy bopping or rocking but no light jiggling). Basically I'm looking for rour best ever dancing-like-you-have-no-vertebrae tunes....
Superstition Stevie Wonder
Teenage Kicks The Undertones
Tainted Love Softcell
One way or another Blondie
Aerosmith/Run DMC Walk this way
Rock Star Cyprus Hill
Dee Lite Groove is in the Heart
Just Radiohead
Beat it Michael Jackson
Sweet child o mine Guns and Roses
to the people who mentioned being too old to be in a club... who said anything about clubs? I was thinking living rooms meself...
*embarred, creeps out and hopes nobody saw here due to lack of responses*
*Embarrased, creeps out and hopes that nobody noticed her lack of responses...*
Okay so I put 2 responses to my own post. Now I definitely have to creep out. Jesus. The first one wouldn't work you see and then I... oh you all know how it works.
It's probably just the weather Fergal, there have been very few posts to any thread recently. My dancing days are probably over but were more influenced by alcohol intake than musical tastes but I could dance to almost anything with a beat (except Rap) if I was in the mood.
'Don't you leave me this way'
Ahh, Emma a classic that I can't believe I missed out of my list.
What a fool believes, doobie brothers (ahem)
tainted love, soft cell (is there anyone alive who wont wig out to this?)
thats entertainment, jam
shiny happy people/end of the world REM
and really, just about anything if I'm very drunk... if I'm not very drunk, then I'm not usually in a club I must admit... a bit too old for this malarkey these days. I had a terribly embarrassing time a few years ago when the wamdue project's king of my castle would have every nerve and bone in my body leaping around.
Most of yours, actually Feargal. Definitely Superstition. Surprised that you don't have Abc by The Jackson Five.
Rocks, by Primal Scream
Teenage Sensation, Credit to the Nation
CannonBall, The Breeders
BlockRocking Beat, Chemical Brothers
Poison, The Prodigy (or probably Everybody is in the place, let's go, as well)
I am the Resurrection - Stone Roses
Weekender, Flowered Up
Sherrif Fatman, Carter
Take Me Out - Franz Ferdinand
i'd join liana in "wigging out" to the doobie brothers, one of my faves
and after we flop exhausted back into our seats and i manage to get the waiter to bring an extremely large g&t for her...
i would then wig out to
teenage kicks - undertones
gimmie all your loving - zz top (it was an air guitar phase)
can't get you out of my head - kylie
never gonna give you up - rick astley - (it was cool in the 80s)
sunday girl - blondie
shiny happy people - rem
mind you, i don't do a lot of wigging out nowadays....
I cant have g&t - i loathe gin with a passion mate, and i'd still be up there for the rem one anyway...
*packs dance mat game for next ABC dooooo - has got many of these on it*
Anything by Faith No More or Therapy? (seems to happen less and less these days - I'm obvioulsy going to the wrong places)
Debasser, The Pixies
The Impression That I Get, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Temple of Love, Sisters of Mercy
Going Underground, The Jam
pretty much anything by The Pogues
The Passenger, Iggy Pop
pretty much anything by Blondie
some of Andrew's
I had a very bad experience on a dancefloor a few years ago and have barely been able to drag myself back since, I saw a mirror.
Passenger!!! Yes!!
The Pogues are good for jolly arm movements I find, and anything that involves general marching and neck twists is also good.
Dance mat you say Rachel...?
i don't know about wigging out, but i do jiggle my knee to
The Ramones: I wanna be sedated/sheena is a punk rocker
Blondie : Dreaming
ZZ top : sharp dressed man/gimme all your loving

Inspiral Carpets: Saturn 5
