Maybe a book of the threads might be a best seller; keep the text in the thread form on the page, i mean sometimes these threads are quite amusing, tearful, interesting, in fact all the ingrediants that make a best seller.
For me....I'm thinking a hybrid between Tim Allen and Crispin Glover. (Of course you cannot physically do that, but with computer graphics and whatnot, why not?)
He's a bit of a pretty boy, Missi, perhaps chosen to play me because he got savaged by Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting for being young and arrogant (although it was a test, I think, since Williams was in the 'wise old chap' role.)
Stormy - Freddie Mercury
Missi - Fatima Whitbread
Fish - Christine Hamilton
Henstoat - McCauley Culkin
Justyn - Anthony Hopkins
Jay - Prunela Scales
Vicky - Kylie Minogue
Hox - Billy Connolly
Jackie - Julie Walters
Jude - Zoe Ball
Karl - Brad Pitt
Stephen D - Vinnie Jones
Funky - John Holt
Ralph Dartford - Jack Nicholson
Hell in that case Hox I WANNA know you better!
Jay.... Judi Dench is as far as I'm conserned the epitome of British Actresses...just the way she is. Besides...she IS young.
Karl...I'm not sure I'd look very good in THAT dress..:) I'd say I'm more of a Melisa Gilbert myself
Fish I was thinking Erin Brockovich... I can definately see you in that role
Hen.. just be glad I didn't say Leonardo di Caprio....
You can't dislike Ralph that much, Karl! Jack Nicholson is always a thoroughly enjoyable actor. By the same logic, your estimation of me has obviously plummeted. ;-)
Vicky - I *am* glad. Thank you for sparing me!
I'd like to be played by a rejuvinated John Hurt or Patrick McGoohan, or a ressurrected Jeremy Brett.
Fish & Henstoat, only joking, but you both know that.
Henstoat - The blonde kid in that life assurance ad who talks to his dad about mutual trusts and grown-up things.
Fish - Elizabeth Montgomery
I'm more of an old black-and-white movie fan myself, soooo:
Fish....Shirley Temple
Karl....Jimmy Cagney
Missi....Spencer Tracy
Stormy...Charlie Chaplin
Vicky.....Jayne Russell
Liana....Joan Crawford
Justyn....George Raft
Tom....as Himself
Here's lookin at you, kids........
Vicky after your exclamation I'll willing be Judi Dench and
her acting didn't come to mind as she is!!! the best and one
of my favourites but I really did think she was old, but then
so am I but you youngsters don't understand we don't want
it admit to it.
Oh, Oh, Oh, I have just writen that top part, I wonder what
makes me tick sometimes, this time mybe its because I
didn't go to bed last night as after tv I was on here all night
partly doing e-mails partly on here so haven't had any shut
eye yet and I'm still here.
I have just gone back to the beginning to check who started
this thread as I thought it was you Vicky and low and behold
not!!! for the first time, got it all wrong again didn't realise
properly what it was about which is what I'v always wanted
to do and be,>>>>>>Sigh's if only!!! Now know Vicky you
were giving me a very high honour indeed so I kneel at your
feet until you forgive me only don't leave me down there to
long as I might not be able to get up>>>>>>>>>Wonder if
my name sake Judi Dench has the same problem hope so
then we can pray together and became friends>>>>>>>
Another pipe dream, I have to ask myself why!!! do I keep
putting myself through this hell...
I'm feeling utterly left out in the trekie crew line-up. Obviously, I must be Man #3 who dies in the third episode.
Okay, here's mine:
Iceman - Vanilla Ice (joke!)
Fish - Susan Sarandon
Karl Wiggins - James Tolkan ("Back to the Future" -- not necessarily his character)
Stormy - Ewan MacGregor
Andrew Pack - Kevin Kline, maybe
Mississippi - Oliver Reed
Henstoat - I have no idea...say... Matt Damon
Tony Dickens - Sean Connery
Tom Saunders - Jim Broadbent
Justyn_Thyme - most definitely Anthony Hopkins ;)
Ralph - Tom Hanks
Liana - the young Maggie Smith
Andrea - Judi Dench
Jude - Marisa Tomei
Tony Cook - Patrick Stewart
Mark YB (where did he run off to?) - a living Terry-Thomas
Don, Oliver Reed is f***in' dead!
And so will you be if there's anymore casting like that!
Justyn is more of a Sydney Greenstreet type I think.
Come on Karl, Fishy is more Dawn French than Christine Hamilton :-)
(thankful to be left out of the Trekkie movie)
Steven Gardiner - Jeremy Irons
Fish - Tanita Tikaram (okay I know she's a singer)
Mississ - I know he's dead but it would have to be Oliver Reed.
Stormy - John Travolta
Missi isn't dead, is he?
Fish! Bob Hoskins older brother!!!!! How can you say I'm older than Bob Hoskins? And how can you say he's bigger than me? I know neither of us are Londoners, but .....
Goes off and sulks.
Vicky - Jayne Russell was a big 50s movie star, starred in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes with Marilyn Munroe. Jayne was very good looking too, apparently :)
Jane Russell Biography
Born Ernestine Jane Geraldine Russell, on June 21, 1921, in Bemidji, Minnesota. Voluptuous star of Hollywood films, TV, and nightclubs whose cleavage provided the most crucial issue in the controversy surrounding the public showing of Howard Hughes's The Outlaw in the 40s.
The daughter of a former actress, she worked as a chiropodist's receptionist, modeled for a photographer, and studied acting at Max Reinhardt's Theatrical Workshop and with Maria Ouspenskaya before her 38-inch bustline came to the attention of Hughes, who was conducting a nationwide chest hunt for the film's leading female role. The film, mild and innocuous in today's terms, was completed and briefly shown in 1941, released briefly in 1943, but not officially released until January 1950.
Meanwhile, it resulted in much vulgar publicity for its star, who was once introduced by Bob Hope as ``the two and only Miss Russell.'' She survived the image, however, and subsequently proved she had other, less obvious talents, playing with proficiency an assortment of roles, typically as a cynical, experienced dame. One of her most remembered roles was in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" with Marilyn Monroe.
Proverb
Sometimes we reflect our inadequicies on other people
to save us looking i ward..
I have tested this theory in life, watching many people.
Eg
A girl started work at the charity shop were i work some time ago. She talked so much when she came in.
When i work in the shop i just get stuck in and do my work, so to some one who didn't know me they could assume i was naturally quiet any way the next week i came in i overheard this new girl who had just started that it was always the quiet ones you had to watch as i walked by. She looked at me at
the same time like she was some sort of lord or something.
The next week i seen her take ten pound out of the till, and i looked at her with pure hate, who did she think she was talking to me like that and saying to other people
