J6 - Journal

Last month on here was just getting so passionate writing wise for a few folks. Oooh wee. I need to get back to my discipline so I can finish them there stories I started way back when.

What's touching me currently? I don't think I've quite recovered from watching Ross Kemp in the Amazon the other day. Like what are we doing to children these days? Just chilling really - just sacrificing everything vulnerable on the alter of so called growth and greed.

Something positive ... Something you don't know about me - if there's anything left. I love lychees and loved the film "Cone Heads" too.

It is good to get feedback on stories from various people to see the difference in how one's laboured work is received. Worth doing though. When I think I have about 35k words yet still to write on one story and probably another 20k to complete another it can seem a touch daunting but really have most of it laid out ready to get on paper. I just don't write as fast as some of you folks. So it is plod, plod, plod over the next few months.

Seeing Doreen Lawrence meet up with Trevon Martin's parents in London was an unforgettable moment of reflection for me.

Had a great time at the Wheatsheaf. Added my comments on the forum thread. Finally getting back to writing this story down that has been causing a log jam in my head of late. Takes time. May even be done by end of this month! Ah what?!

Wonderful weather here in London. Love music featuring in the Forum. Enjoying the fact that love can stir us up like that.

Just thinking about issues that come up for us writers as has been explored here of late. Really is good to come out and share that stuff. Other people do in other walks of life so I really appreciate it. Also, I am very conscious of just how raw and instant some of the stories I've posted on here have been. Really are first drafts as I'll never get to the end if I keep looking back at a previous chapter - just get caught up in the wrong direction. Edits etc will have to be done later - over and over no doubt. All in the process.

I am very conscious of some of the ugly things breaking out around racism in a world of economic turmoil set to worsen. I am also very conscious of problems in my country of origin. Issues concerning women and children weigh very heavy for me.

One day I will have time to look back at these journals to see what I'll find. This is the last one as I don't want to feel I have to write something every month. The experiment for me has been of value and has helped me to focus. So I am going to start instead a Jotter Journal which I'll drop things into when I feel inclined and probably a lot less frequently.

For those of you who joined me, I hope you found these journals useful as well and that you enjoyed the journey with me.
