Night Shadows caress my tortured mind,
Seeking out the silence of my tormented cries,
My pain ebbs and flows,
With every bitter sweet memory that it evokes,
Love fading like a fragrant scent.
The dawn brings no new release,
No peace of mind or rest for me to keep,
Love has become a bewildered state,
The illusion of tender emotions gone,
So how am I to go on?
Now nothing but hatred and the need to weep,
Replacing feelings that were so sweet,
My mind so hollow,
My heart so bare,
My soul mate gone,
And pain does follow that once was there.
As the sun chases away the night,
As the moon hides from sight,
I now know a piece of me must die,
I now must wave it a bitter goodbye.........
