My teeth were rotting,
There was a gaping abscess into which
my incisors were collapsing,
Then I awoke and drank water.
I looked into the mirror
and realising my mistake,
Immediately took cover,
To halve the number of people;
at least in my room.
I composed rummy sonnets
of hacking morning cough
to dislodge phlegm,
And I am ashamed of the sound,
For a moment at least,
Like I've offended the
life giving nature of the sun.
There are dregs of wine left,
I consider, just for a moment...
No, not yet...
