‘Here’s my piece.’
Charlie dropped
a nickel plated,
snub nosed,
357 magnum
into my hand.
‘Bought it off
a little ol' lesbian
at my Church.’
It was heavy,
warm and oily,
as I held it
power took on
a new meaning.
The gun
was designed
for three things;
to be carried easily,
to be concealed
and to shoot people.
That was all.

This is a true story, Charlie was a friend, a Vietnam vet, and it happened in 1976.

You show the point of a very good title quite well here. It compliments the story, and conjures up all kinds of thoughts on its own, in reference to this extremely well written piece.
Much enjoyed :)
