I saw you in an ice-cream parlor
The sky was afire
Buildings collapsed

Sipped your milkshake cold and long

So it made a mark
Greasy streak across polished glass
You looked lonely
So lonely and afraid
I wanted to hold you
I wanted to smoke cigarettes with you
Secretly, inside a wardrobe
Where neighbors never go
And dogs bark in silence
But instead I wrote this

Something about this I like. The last stanza itself is gently powerful. If you know what I mean;-)
