THE STARLORD"S DAUGHTER

No likes yet ♦

from the ABC set ALIEN DREAMS

Pale though I be as a planet's ring,
Fairer than moonbright water;
Wild as the waves and winds that sing -
I am the Starlord's daughter.

*
Why do you come to my spaceship wall,
Man of the noble Earthborn;
Why do you follow an alien dream,
Silent and secret and lovelorn?

*
The glance of my eyes beguiles you so,
Silver my hair around me;
What can you know of my soul below?
You've come so far and found me.

*
"Your smile is the sun and your words are moons,
Earth is a flower beneath you;
Open the lock and let me in
That I may climb and reach you."

*
A thousand years of space and time
My homeworld waits behind me;
I am a dream from your ancient past -
Your future cannot find me.

*
"Fain would I go to your planet home
Where light and shadow lingers;
Fain would I strive for the sunbright worlds
Tempting my wanton fingers".

*
- - - - -Let the ice-winds blow;
- - - - -Let the Heavens fall;
- - - - -Time! - Stand still forever .......
- - - - -I will bind them all!

*
Pale though I be as a planet's ring,
Fairer than moonbright water;
Wild as the waves and winds that sing -
I am the Starlord's daughter.

Loved this one, Indrani, and the first (and last) stanza, quite breathtaking.

Very much enjoyed.

I agree with Grover, the pacing is soothing and relaxing. She feels like a place I need to visit
