Hello Mum,
Hope you're well. Just a quick note to let you know that Stevie got his car! It wasn't the one he had his eye on, that turned out to be too expensive, but he's really pleased with this one. Now he realises how much things cost, insurance, MOT, petrol, but I know you'll help out from time to time. He does so love his Nan and Grandad.
Saw you in Asda on Monday, you and Dad were at the checkout just putting your shopping in the trolley, I was going to come over and say hello but I had pilates booked and was already running late. Besides, you looked as though you were having a bit of a row, hope everythings ok?
Got to cancel Sunday lunch unfortunately, as this week has been manic, so have to catch up with housework. What with Pilates, Yoga and Tennis lessons I seem to be always doing something. I know we have young Katia from Poland in a few days a week to help with everything, but I seem to be exhausted. Us woman heh? Always on the go. The men don't know they're born do they?
Speaking of men, Brian has got a promotion at work. He's now Sales Director ( or something like that) for Europe. It does mean he will be away quite a lot but the extra money will come in handy. Things do seem to be very tight at the moment even with the extra money, god knows how we'll afford a holiday this year? We've seen a fantastic apartment in Barbados that we could rent for a fortnight but not sure if we'll have the funds available! Don't suppose you could have a word with Dad for me.....please.
If we add it on to the money we owe you for the kitchen extension then we'll sort out some kind of repayment plan somehow.
Love you mum.
Joan.
P.S. Stevie may pop round tommorow to show off his new car. If you could give him a few pounds for petrol etc, that would really help.

Oooh, Acid, astringency, squeaking nasty superficiality. So many things that I want to say about this. What mum should say is "fuck off right now" but we all know that she won't - thank God.

This one is also very very good. You're on a rich vein of form. Keep up the good work.

As I was abducted by aliens and only just returned to the earth, I am only catching up on reading now. I have very little free time as I work full time in a sweat shop but I will S-L-O-W-L-Y be working my way through people's work. My slowness is not lack of interest.... Now, I love these letters and I hate the Joan one.

Thank you Christine, we are all such busy people and there is so much good stuff on this site. Glad you caught up with the letters.
As you know. Big, BIG fan of the Harry Hill stuff.
