Spanish Eyes

Her Spanish eyes
So soft and brown
So wide and clear
The way they sway
The way they peer
Into my thoughts
Into my night
It’s so precise
It’s so refined

They remind me of
Lorca’s poems
The way they flow
The way they soar
Beyond the
Mountain mist
Beyond all
Muddy metaphor

Her ocean kiss
It sinks the sun
Into my lips
And drowns my
Neck in subtle waves

And when I touch
Those tender cheeks
I shudder at
The thought of
Leaving her
So all alone
Beneath the moon
Without my lips
Without the promise
Of another kiss

Jose - another fine poem. These lines especially did it for me:

"The way they soar
Beyond the
Mountain mist
Beyond all
Muddy metaphor..."

Wonderful;-)
