what would Biggins do?

what would Biggins do?

when I find myself in times of trouble…

it isn’t actually Mother Mary that comes to me,
for in the horns of a dilemma,
or brought up sharp at a crossroads,
i don’t ask Jesus for help either,
but I ask myself,
often aloud –
‘What would Biggins do?’

and the answer arrives,
sometimes in rhyme, more often
than not, in bright coloured
pantomime
(oh no it doesn’t!)

he would coo,
with the twinkling grin of a raconteur,
before exploding
into raucous laughter…

he might open a cabinet of pinkie rings,
then no doubt dress up to the nines,
before partying, until dawn
comes knocking,
with a bright,
bejewelled call,

that’s what Biggins would do.
and in that,
is a lesson for us all…

A little bizarre but in a very good way. We are talking Christopher Biggins here, are we? (I did like his performance in Jarman's Tempest all those years ago)
