I am fractured, by stereotypes and endeavours,
Trying to fit big ideas, into small minds
I am tarnished, by conjecture,
By comparisons and competition
The stories of my life, picked apart,
Torn from their heart,
Seasoned with assumptions,
Poorly rewritten
I am tired, of clique collusion and toxic validation
I am a little broken,
By low expectations that birth such bitter fruit
I am saddened; to see people so bright,
With all their might,
Shrink their world
Boxing up my reality
So I am easier to digest

Liked this very much!
Individuality versus pressure to conform - so deftly expressed in not that many lines.
Well done!
Andrée :)

A great poem, sharp and striking, my favourite line: "Trying to fit big ideas, into small minds", also reminds me of your name Russian doll and those Matryoshka's fitting into each other.

There is so much to commend this poem. It's taken me far too long to get round to reading it - I feel rather miffed!
Thoroughly deserving of all the praise, and then some.
Super.
Scratch.
