Leaves

from the ABC set You're O.K, I'm not O.K

An easterly wind blows the leaves
across this flat and sodden land,
If I were braver, I’d allow
the wind to take my hand
and take me from this hostile place,
that never asked for me.
My sympathies lie with the leaves,
lost and hopeless, nowhere bound
tattered, torn, sad, alone
and very far from trees.

Leaves and stuff I'd say. Again...a very strong last line. Says it all, really.

"If I were braver, I’d allow
the wind to take my hand"

A lovely description of a complex desire x

Shirley Shoe - it's a poem in itself :O)

I watch as Nature weaves
Mousey little leaves
'neath tattered trees
Maybe it's the breeze
Chasing round and round
Faint rustling sound
See how they run
Following the sun.

Your little ditty is the perfect birthday gift, if I may consider it as such, :~}

Happy Birthday Dear Shoe.
May you never be blue
May your wishes come true
May you be lucky too
And all that you do
May it bring joy to you!

All your poems are quite beautiful, Shoe.

I picked this one to comment on because it's Autumn weather outside my window but you're clearly a talented poet and I enjoyed this alot; heard the wind blowing and saw the leaves and the autumn darkness, everything.

The whole poem is so good that it's difficult to pick a favourite line but I liked:

If I were braver, I’d allow
the wind to take my hand
and take me from this hostile place,

JoHn -

"Ex amore victoria". ("From love comes victory".)
