from the ABC set Poems

Come step out of the shadows
show me who you are stranger,
fall into the poetry of life
let me delve into your soul,
for your silent affections
in all honesty and truth...are
a mystery to my enquiring mind,

please do not move automata
responding like a machine...
let me hear your melifluous -
silvery-toned...honeyed voice,

do not babble so with paper and pen,
for we embrace the resonance of your
elusive qualities that are yours alone,
let us not be curious strangers - but
quench our thirst with a shared goblet
of words we can exchange face to face,

like the feline is menaced with fear
by its own dark...reflected silhouette,
do not be afraid - none of us has the
perfection - but we all have greatness,

move from out of the darkest corners
so that we may savour precious moments,
we could indulge in childhood fantasies
take pleasure in creative - imagination,
two free spirits not afraid to shine on,

for just one moment do not be afraid
to seek me, we can forget who we are
and indulge in a sensory feast...feel
the rain ripple over our bodies - as
we writhe across sodden grass - our
clothes drenched with the morning dew -
as we sip some of the dawning glory...
stretching out before us...a new day,

let us hope that by the giving
which we can both share...we
will recieve what we contribute
in all honesty and truth...but
not by deceit...nor by despair,
as we anxiously await the fruits
of pleasure in our ever open minds,

your letters remind me of rosebuds in May
so don't remain concealed like scared mice,
for like Alice we are curious to know you
as to your charming appeal we are intrigued,

your letters silvery laced with intimacy...
appealing to our eyes your words of charm -
strange and mysterious lady whoever you are,
let us meet at a place of choice...amble our
way through leafy park...run barefoot across
the downs, time with your Bohemian Stranger.

This is wonderful, Jennie...and represents many hours of hard work, I am sure. (just a tiny typo should be 'deceit'.)

Loved this stanza,

..."your letters remind me of rosebuds in May
so don't remain concealed like scared mice,
for like Alice we are curious to know you
as to your charming appeal we are intrigued,"

Many congrats on this, Jennie;-)

What an amazing way of words.
The stanza I like as many here.
Do not babble so with paper and pen
for we embrace the resonance of your
elusive qualities that are yours done,
let us not be curious strangers-but
quench the thirst with a shared goblet
of words we can exchange face to face
