Those hills we faced
steep and rugged
stirring gales
whirling wild,
blowing our cagoules
like parachutes,
feeling prepared for
taking to the air
a flush of scarlet cheeks
laughing wildly,
unperturbed feelings
of elation
feasting on the delights
of free will,
to run like the wind
arms out like eagles wings,
madcap...foolish
but wide-eyed and alive.

Hello celticman,
I'm really glad you got that image, it was what
started me off with the poem.

I get the same feeling when I surf or skate or dive. The feeling of being young at heart

That's a great comment valiswaverider, you really
sound like you love the freedom of the big out doors,
you must be really fit and healthy, that's a wonderful code to live by.
Thanks for reading and the great comment.

Hi FB,
I hope I can make the most of them while they are
there. I just suppose I'm not worrying to much about
being good, but just talking about things that
interest me and have meaning to me.
It's nice to know that others are appreciating what
I have to say and giving such great comments, like
yours.
Thankyou so much, it's very much appreciated.

What does cagoules mean Jenny? I couldn't find it in the dictionary! Sort of ruins it for me when I miss out on something so vital. Well I got a good feeling from this poem despite- made me think of being young and feeling free. A good feeling. Thanks
;))Pia

Hi Pia,
a cagoule is a kind of windbreak mac that people
wear when it's either very windy or very wet. Hope
that helps.
Thankyou so much for reading and in a way I'm glad
it brings back memories of feeling young and free,
the imagination is a wonderful thing.
Hope you're enjoying your weekend.
Jenny.
