The Girl is Lost

No likes yet ♦

The girl is lost,
Remembering your smile,
Awakens her heart,
And opens her bliss.
Closing her eyes,
Memories fade more,
Clawing the stomach.
It hurts to laugh,
Yet that shortens every mile,
Dirt is more worthy than her,
While you are away.
Choking on desperation,
Each day is poison,
She dies a little more,
Thick ropes tying her down.
Falling to her knees,
Scratching where you would lay,
Dragging herself through agony.
A brave face is given,
Forgetting that black smudges stain,
Answers will come eventually,
But the girl does not understand.
The girl knows this won’t last forever,
Counting down until next time,
Your arms will be there,
Strong, safe arms.
The times she sees you,
Are always too short,
But until you’ll always be together,
The girl is lost.

Yet that shortens every mile,... I love this, a mile is a mile is a mile, it can't be shortened and yet it works so well here.

But until you’ll always be together,
The girl is lost... beautiful ending.

I really liked this, didn't spot any typos, couldn't comment on the punctuation because poetry baffles me, but really liked the words, you go from soft and gentle to hard and gritty and back again. ..Sweet.

thank you, I wrote this a few months ago but never did anything with it so I thought I'd share it on here. its pretty personal and its such a strong feeling missing someone so I'm glad you like it.
