What is hardship?
Is it an oppression of one so that another can rise?
Is it walking ten miles a day just to get dirty drinking water because this is all you have to keep your family alive?
Is it living with a disease or illness like a terminal stain on life?
Or is it an alcoholic trying to escape from his pain?
Or a drugs addict doing exactly the same?
Is it the homeless person you pass on the street every day with only a cardboard box for a home?
Is it never knowing if this is the day you or your loved one dies?
Is it the mother who works three jobs just to provide a home and food on the table for her children?
Or the soldier under constant mortar fire?
And so on just look around
I guess hardship is defined by the person, the experiences you are living with, the struggles you are facing, the rock you are pushing, the loss you are trying to cope without and the demons haunting you.
But take this thought with you: no matter how hard your life is, somewhere, someone has it harder. Someone is worse off than you
The point is don’t give up
Never give up
Roll up your sleeves and say –
I am coming through this, through the other side, stronger, more resilient and more determined than before
I will be a better person
I will be alive
Remember people – Today could be the best day of your life and tomorrow, well this could be even better.
