There are those who would have you believe
what they believe; that you should not
wipe your nose clean on your sleeve.
There are germs that make you stronger
by making you immune: No longer prey
to running snot or the phases of the moon,
nor yet the dull declensions of the day;
you are yourself an antibody, which
is not as funny as it sounds. There are
no grounds on which to place your faith
in anybody, until you see the colour
of their money. You are not a wraith
who thrives on memories and fear; who
haunts the remnants of past lives and
renders all that you once held dear
back to dismembered bones. There are better
ways than going it alone; but to break
the fetters and to forsake the safer
path is a great temptation: A pearl
is fabled as a grain of sand; an irritation.
Look at the whorls and lines etched on
your hand and deny far fetched designs.
