Story and Poem of the Month

Our Story and Poem for the month of February, very kindly chosen by Mark Burrow
I enjoyed reading through the different posts over the course of the month and it was nice to see some new ABC'ers on the site.
Story of the month goes to HudsonMoon for Goose-Stepping Down Main Street. It could be seen as a little slice of nightmarish dystopia, or perhaps a realistic portrayal of the desperate times we find ourselves in. Either way, it takes skill to find humour in these things and HudsonMoon does it with aplomb. I love the kindness that HudsonMoon gets into his writing—very few are able to do it. I urge you to check out his other stuff.
Poem of the Month goes to Lavadis for A Series of Horses of Decreasing Size. At the risk of sounding like a cretin, most poetry tends to go over my head, so I admired how Lavadis lays down some very clear and hard-hitting lines. It’s not trying to be tricksy or clever. It just conveys raw emotion on a difficult topic and I think they do it very well indeed.
Congrats to both of them and to everyone for posting.
Look after yourselves.
