Story, Poem and Inspiration Point of the Week
Posted by scratch on Fri, 30 Oct 2015
The responses to last week's inspiration point have been absolutely superb. The weekly inspiration point feature seems to be going from strength to strength which is thrilling. Please do join in with it if you haven't done so already, it really can be an awful lot of fun and definitely frees the muse. If you have any suggestions of your own for a possible IP please don't be shy and let us know what you have in mind. More on the coming week's inspiration point at the bottom of this announcement.
So on to the weekly winners.
The poem of the week title is awarded to ABCtales long-time and much admired member Silver Spun Sand for her wonderful poem Incident On The Line. The concision and control the poet demonstrates is absolutely super and that, aligned with the arresting quality of the imagery of the mid-stanza, makes this one really memorable:
This week's story accolade goes to Vera Clark for Small Things. It's a story that speaks of love and how we should celebrate when children are given the freedom to live and learn in an unconstrained and unfettered environment. It's a story that shows why we should value independence and individuality. I hear Alice Cooper's base gutturals extolling the virtues of when School's Out and then Pink Floyd's warning of Another Brick...' Anyway, here's the link:
This week's inspiration point, poetry or prose based loosely on:
"Going up. Coming down".
