Fledgling Wings

A collection of chapters from my failed first attempt at a novel.

Fledgling Wings: Chapter 3

Chapter Three of 'Fledgling Wings', which is much longer than its predecessors. On its Word Document it covers about seven pages, and I think it helps exemplify the problems with the story - rushed in action, character thoughts + decisions and plot, with no sense of taking things slow half the time. Everything you see is as I left it upon completion.

Fledgling Wings: Chapters 1 & 2

The first two chapters of a finished but unpublished novella I wrote between 2009 and 2010. Because I was only roughly 14-15 at the time of writing it, and being very new to writing prose (beforehand I wrote three short stories) it has a lot of shortcomings (rushed story, characters only appearing in one chapter). I realised this soon after reading through it. Thankfully my writing has improved over the years to a much more competent level. *Additionally, I've changed the title for this, as the original one was nonsensical: 'Space Emission'. Why did I go for that name? Bugger if I know.

Fledgling Wings: Chapters 4 & 5

Here are Chapters 4 and 5 of 'Fledgling Wings' (early work from 2009-2010). Here, our protagonist John, now on his brother's ship, confronts him once again, and another fight ensues. Meanwhile, a wanderer in a far-away wasteland meets hostility.
