They Don't Understand

*~They Don't Understand~*

Think like you did back when
When you were a little person
Learning about things you
Had not yet understood
When hunger in the foreign
World made you sad
When inhumanity made you mad.
Think about things you wish
You would have never seen
When the teacher told you
There was a way to save from poverty
But you were little, you had no way
To stand and tell someone you wanted to save
Think today what you see on TV
It's never good; the sky is always a darker blue
Then those commercials about "feed the unfed"
Are not real, kids don't have a clean bed
Those "sponsors" are only out to take your money
They don't want to dry those confused eyes, wet and runny
It saddens me how we can't do enough
It angers me how people buy and sell stuff
To people who think they are better than me and you
They kill off animals and wear expensive clothes
When there are children dying
Children crying because they don't know
How or why they got there
How they got to have an unhealthy life
I know they know they will die
I know they know most people lie
They won't be saved, no not like this
They can't be saved in a world like this
Not with the hate that most people have
Not with the apathy and pride almost everyone is saturated with
Don't forget that want you used to have
When you think back when
And can't make that stand, you can only hope
But sometimes hope doesn't save diseases
Only "a few" miracles of god are granted once in a life time.
