i read this when you first posted it so i know it is about a woman who was found dead in her flat, she had died two years before and no-one had noticed.

But it speaks to anyone who fears lonliness and the last two lines made me shiver. A diffilcult topic handled well.

Thanks for your interest in this piece - not sure how many people saw the newspaper report at the weekend about this poor, unfortunate women, Joyce Vincent. Doesn't seem possible that her body lay undiscovered in her flat - right above the shopping centre in Wood Green, North London - TV still on, half-wrapped Xmas presents all around her, for 2 years! Makes you wonder about the society we are creating for ourselves, in these days of chipping and pinning - our identities encoded in electronic circuitry. What happened to this woman could happen to a lot more of us in the future. Food for thought. ty Juliet. SSS
