Tea Leaves

A plane was flying over
I dreamt it was an eagle
So everyone could see
The face of flight
And if we all took to skies
Like dots from a crow's nest
We'd fly to northern counties
And gather flocks
Write messages in smoke for you
A helicopter whistled
And coughed into mountains
Carved images in sand
On a beach below
And if all of us were artists
Digging pictures on shorelines
We'd do it on the coast
On northern bays
Leave messages for you to find
Red Arrows in the night
Perform a show to no one
In dazzling rays of sun
Applause will sing
And if all of us were pilots
Flying over Pennines
We'd do it any time
And fly to you
Bring gifts and a song for you
If I could write a thousand songs
Then a hundred words wont take too long
And if those I wrote would leave you bored
Then I would write a thousand more
