The thin plastic chairs
are cold like the coffee in the Styrofoam cup
That I’m not drinking
And the nurse has these wrinkles bracketing her lips
Like parentheses
Like what she is saying is just some afterthought
Like me sitting here with this coffee
Thinking about how lucky I am when I'd wake up to you
Still sleeping, when you are so unaware of this world
Of girls holding on to Styrofoam cups
And plastic chairs that offer no support.

Sorry - my computer froze and I ended up sending the reply three times. Don't know how.
