I wish I had a willow in my garden. I always have to look at the one in a neighbours garden but they are exceptionally beautiful trees and not sad, I don't think, just passionate or romantic like a person with dishevelled wind swept hair. Also they can look very joyful, like cheerleaders waving pom-poms, when its sunny. Really glad you enjoyed it Tina, thanks.

Your description of a willow tree, especially cheerleaders waving pom-poms, is spot on the mark! Just what mine looks like this morning, with a really stiff breeze coming in from the east. It always looks most beautiful though, when the sun is going down, and the whole tree looks ablaze with fire. As you say, far from sad-looking, and I think your 'passionate' sums it up very well;-)
