Do you remember those lights, my dear?
As we drove on the motorways
in the wildest of dream-nights
Flirting with Manchester
Teasing policemen in Pond Street
Chasing M62, 180 and the glory of
coal-fired power stations
Then the farthest reaches of Holderness
Dawn breaking along the thread of existence
‘tween Humber and the fishable North Sea
There was nobody there but us
Just you and me
We disregarded the rest
All I could see was the sand and the fractals
on your wall
Do you remember this?
Were we really there at all?

Wonderfully atmospheric, PT. And speaking of coal-fired power-stations, my other half served his apprenticeship at Battersea.
Much enjoyed your poem;-)
