1.
Ghost white, the cherry blossom
petals dance upon the wind;
ash white, they heap up
on the Earth below.
The boom of cicadas
fills up the still Summer air;
a little child falls asleep
and life goes on.
Chorus:
The radiance of a thousand suns
burned in my heart today
seeing my daughter and my young son
two little children at play.
The resonance of a thousand guns
boomed in my heart today
‘cause I met a girl, I know she’s the one
that I will love all my days.
2.
Laughter like, the peach blossom
petals float away downstream;
childlike, the pink petals
finger paint the Earth.
The gloom of a black cloud
threatens to block out the sun.
A child feels the rain fall down
and life goes on.
Chorus:
The radiance of a thousand suns
burned in my heart today
seeing my daughter and my young son
two little children at play.
The resonance of a thousand guns
boomed in my heart today
‘cause I met a girl, I know she’s the one
that I will love all my days.

I think it is a clever
I think it is a clever combination of the past and hope for the future, can't avoid the chill with ghosts from the past. I liked it a lot.

An unusual read for me.
An unusual read for me.
My late father was there in 1946.
Sadly in the photo's he took there were no cherry blossoms
He said he could still feel the heat
