Close your eyes
Cover your ears
Don’t look for a reason
To have reason
And we’ll be in the clear
We’re children of the coming apocalypse
Imagine a world without savagery
War, famines or greed
When we think its better
Your grief is born of hatred and not need
We’re children of the coming apolcalpyse.
When your justifications grows a little less
That may seem to you like progress
To be regarded as human
No reason why
We’ve got to die
We’re children of the coming apocalypse
We’re children of the recurring dream
No lies, no bitterness, no atrocity too extreme
Normal life lived too late
Too late, too late, too late
We’re children of the coming apocalypse.

An apocalypse will come. They
An apocalypse will come. They've been before. The planet survived, by the skin of its teeth, and regenerated. It would probably be much better off without its current dominant species.
In the meantime we all need to be regarded as human. Too many people seem unable to do that. As we stand there saying 'lest we forget' it seems that we have forgotten.
Your words are thoughtful and powerful Jack. Good on you!

Let's hope the coming
Let's hope the coming apocalypse never comes. Yes, a poem that's a reflection of events from around the world at the moment. Heartfelt sentiments, CM.

A poem from you seems a rare thing, a poem that grasps at the heart and fear of things, CM.
