[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]

No room in the inn for the birth of the child,
will you give him room? with your God reconciled,
and hope he has room for you there in his heaven?
acknowledging, asking your sins be forgiven?

There’s room in his heaven for all who perceive
their guilt, now desiring his grace to receive,
redeemed by the price that he paid on the cross
in dying for sinners repentant like us.

So open the door of your heart, let him in
– the Saviour, your Maker, the almighty King.
There’s room in his arms now to shelter and shield
and feed with the nourishing truth he’s revealed.

Yes we must have our priorities right, it might mean heaven or doom. Fame and money won't help you then ...

Your poem makes one think of verses in the sermon on the mount about charity and the goats and sheep (?) there is some food for thought and a wake-up call. "Lord, when were you in prisoner that we did not come to you.. something.

Yes, what is being emphasised in Matthew 25 is that ture faith will show itself in actions, and care for others, especially his needy and persecuted people. There is room for all who want to come to his heaven, his arms, but they must come truly with integrity and wanting to walk his ways.

Of course not!

I added the reference to Matthew 25, as, as you said there is so much in the sermon on the mount about real, living faith, not just verbal assent that can be dead as far as living in his ways with his help, but the reference to sheep and goats and caring for those in nee and in prison is actually in that chapter. greetings, Rhiannon

From the sermon on the Mount, in Matthew 25

Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you, I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answered him, Lord when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in, or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

But depart from me, ye cursed, They shall answer, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

Also, For not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
