A Blah Day

Tuesday started a blah-white day, didn’t even whip up a breeze. A morning for ironing and contemplation. Contemplating why I think the house is untidy. It’s not. There are a few hot spots; the pantry, utility room, kitchen counter tops and what was the office, but what I am now trying to call ‘the studio’.
Pantry door hides the bedlam inside, so that can wait. I spend hours of day-dreamy pleasure pottering around the kitchen; classing that as an ongoing project. The utility room has DIY tasks to be done. The roof had a leak, mended two years ago. The ceiling has not been re-painted with the water-stain-covering-up paint nor the ceiling paint, both of which are sitting on the counter tops in said utility room, adding to the untidiness. When I think of DIY, I want to take a big nap. I can’t say I hate it, as I don’t actually do it. There is a philosophy that you should start with the task you least want to do and get it over with. This is not my philosophy. So, as the rain started to pour, Tuesday afternoon, I started to tidy the office. I mean, the studio.
This is untidy because there are items on the floor; books, 13 frames, art supplies, watercolour paper blocks, bags of collagable images. I see this guddle at least twice a day, as I come into the office, I mean the studio, to write 300 words. This is a key factor in the ‘my house is a mess’ thinking, and is likely blocking any progress on 13 blackbirds and other creative projects.
So, the office, I mean the studio, is the key to unravelling the whole frozen untidy thinking mess.
But first, a cup of tea and a slice of banana bread.

When I think of DIY, I want
When I think of DIY, I want to take a big nap. Yes, I'm with you there and many other things too. The thought of it so draining for the soul. This is relatable and entertaining too.

Guddle sounds like the sort
Guddle sounds like the sort of mess I trip over, yelping "Gah". There should be words for different kinds of mess, like Inuit have for snow. I really enjoyed this diary episode, and sympathise greatly with the need to do something, anything, else instead
