Interview with ABCtales Author Laurie Avadis

"Saturday had arrived, as Saturdays do, and Daniel woke to the sound of his father sharpening a meat cleaver over his bed and singing the aria “One Fine Day” from Puccini’s Madame Butterfly.

Nothing out of the ordinary there, then."

-Excerpt from Laurie Avadis' Ex

As many of you now know, ABCtales has partnered with Unbound to publish three novels by ABCtales authors. Each of these novels, all written in serial form on ABCtales, are being sold in advance to fund their production.

This is the first wave in what we hope will be a long relationship with Unbound - we want to make ABCtales the first port of call for all debut novelists on their journey to publication. ABCtales aims to provide a forum for you to write, for you to read and, ultimately, for you to publish your own novels via Unbound.

But that can’t happen without us first supporting these ABCtalers - so I’d like to urge you to take a few minutes to watch the short movie about Ex now on Unbound. If you're interested, order a book or two. Digital copies start at £10, and it only takes a few seconds to register. Order one for yourself, order one as a gift, order one instead of going out for a pint tonight. Ex is a unique, outside-the-box piece of fiction that is darkly comic, quirky and touching, and which deserves to be on bookstore shelves. For once, the reader has the opportunity to decide what gets put up there - so lets make the most of it.

To give you a bit of an idea about the book, ABCtales had a conversation with Laurie Avadis about how he writes, why he’s matching pledges to the book with donations to Shooting Star Children’s Hospice, and the importance of the ABC community to his work. Have a read of the interview on our homepage, and please do make sure to pledge for a copy if you like what you see.

All the best,

Luke Neima & the ABCtales Team
