there are some great lines in this, and a real feeling of alienation and despair, an existential crisis of the 21st century as we turn to the new religion of celebrity.

Not sure on the italiscised lines are they lyrics? And as a poem not sure of it works in terms of rythmn and structure, but its images have stuck with me enough that i went back to read it again.

John, Thanks for explaining how this was created, though as i know little about the creation of poetry not sure what the 'cut up' technique is. And, what do you mean by this? "It is a vision of the future filtered through the distorting lens of the past." Juliet
