Meet the team
ABCtales was launched in September 2000 by John Bird (The Big Issue founder), along with Gordon Roddick (The Body Shop co-founder) and Tony Cook (Chairman of Red Pepper and co-owner of the award winning independent TV production company Praxis Films). The idea then, as now, was to offer a forum where writers could share their work, critique their peers and grow their talent. The site is now run by the ABC Tales Foundation, a registered charity and limited company.
All the founder members have now retired from the Foundation, and three of the charity’s trustees volunteered to become directors in their place:
Claudine Lazar
Rob Stewart
Rachel Deering
All the directors, and all the trustees, are current members of ABCtales.
Running ABCtales is very much a collective enterprise, but if you have questions about specific areas, the suggestions below may be helpful:
Queries about new or existing accounts, any difficulties with uploading your content, general queries about Terms of Use: email Claudine at claudine@abctales.com
Queries about data protection, donations, general financial queries: email Rachel at Rachel@abctales.com
Anything else – try either or both of us!
We will answer all queries as soon as we can, but please remember that the site is run by part time volunteers and sometimes delays are unavoidable, particularly at weekends or holiday periods. If you haven’t heard back within two working days by all means follow up with a reminder, in case we haven’t got your original email.
