Lastly

In the beginning
There was nothing else
Just you and me
And tender words
And I
Was free of this aching sickness
Which has left my heart
Unable to recall
How it felt to hate
Before you were there
To catch me tired, unhappy
Wet from rain
Kiss defeated lips
Call me little one
Works only to encourage rage
Which cannot be expressed
But by kissing back
Still we press together
Small bodies slip off clothes
On carpet cling to one another
As lost as we were a year ago
These hip bones crushed together
Seem a desperate effort to penetrate
A hiding place in anothers skin
A small reprise for safety's sake
Inability to find reuge
Will leave us lying torn apart
Disappointment renders tearful eyes
Broken voices, screaming hearts
Post-coital arguments in circles
Follow rollies on your attic floor
As still I struggle to express
What I would give
To be without you
If only away from could be without
But away from fails to satisfy
Green eyes chase me through the rain
Eyelashes become entangled
Within my week
Flecks of colour haunt me
Over coffee breaks
And watch me as I wonder when
You will become to me
What you were to me before
When the beginning had not yet begun
