really enjoyed reading this one ... rings very true for me ... (i quit a 30 a day habit nearly 4 years ago) and is well written with some corking phrases ...
i'm used to feeling a touch of dread when i see the slider button on the side of the window is very small and has a long way to go down ... with this piece i was sorry it finished ...
i like the tone
It is a nice bit, isn't it?
The thing that lifts it is the interest in other people rather than self. Mr Cravat is lovely, like Leslie Philips incarnate.
It's so easy for diaries to be entirely about the person writing them, to the point where they stop being interesting even for that person. This, on the other hand, has a focus that is resolutely outward.
A good pick, I think.
And a good cherry.
Cheers,
mark

i liked this a lot ... i am a sucker for detail and plenty in here ... also a controlled tone and i like what is left out ... so many writers try and put everything in ...
i have tried to make a new topic for this endless times ... grrr ... it won't let me ...
