To my little Brother.
By Surmise
It's funny how at your age you see me as a wise person
Your a 4th grader,
what can you possibly know about life
You are young and filled with life
All you have to worry about is school and church
Everything ells I take care of.
No one dares to bully you because you have 3 bigger brothers
No girl will play with your heart because your older sister will always have your back
You are the youngest
We will protect you as if you were our son
Its a fraternity thing
Time always uncovers what will once be hidden
In time you will say i know nothing because times have changed
"This is a new era" you will say.
"These are new problems, new people, and a different circumstance"
We all think like this when we are young and foolish.
What you will go through will not be anything new to me.
You actually had a childhood and I envy your life.
I started developing a mature mind at the age of 6.
You don't even know what certain words mean.
TO your eyes in time I will be an overprotective sister
Don't be out too late
Put a sweater on!
Go to school and try your hardest.
Ignore your bullies.
Hey I'm an adult, what can i know about your world and how much it has changed.
Nothing is new under the sun.
What you will go through is not new, someone out their already went through your same problem.
I enough to tell you that life is not about beauty, or popularity.
Its not about the way you dress or how many women you will date.
I might even warn you about STD's and how having a child at a young age can make it difficult to succeed; but i know i can not keep you young and innocent forever.
So all I can do is watch you grow.
Take your time
Live according to who you are.
Don't let anyone change how energetic you can be.
Enjoy the freedom you have now.
Because tomorrow will be different.
As your at the front line of your life getting hit by what the world will bring you, never forget that you will always have your elder brothers and an older sister to pick you up and help you when you need us.
Little brother, you are never alone.
