I promised to give up politics for Lent
Even though the players have been heaven sent.
They're all over sexed, or if not they are bent.
Oh, do pardon me, but you know what I meant.

To all politicians, whoever you are
Your opinions, whatever won't get you too far.
You're left or your right and you're not up to par
So get on your bikes, and keep out of the bar.

The state of the nations depends upon you
so make up your minds about what there's to do.
We won't keep on waiting, we won't form a queue.
Get moving, don't linger, we want something new.

The patience of people is not without bounds
We want something solid, not just the sounds.
The rumours and everything going the rounds
won't do it, because it is costing us pounds.

So while I'm abstaining from critic severe
keep giving us hope for a little more cheer.
If you don't, you have, sorry so much to fear.
No good news for us, and the end will be near.
