The Holly, Evergreen

Tightly, to life, the holly leaf is tethered;

‘twill not wither even in wintry weather.

When blazing leaves have blown away like feathers,

the holly still glows like polished green leather.

That holly leaf's tough as old boots you see

but, against autumn gloom, is a great beauty.
