Heavy tears fall down;

a mothers world blown apart

by the bombshell of news;

in her life now, a vast crater.

This is well crafted making the vivid point. I think that most who feel that war has to be sometimes at present have no illusions of its catastrophic effects and tragedy and consequences. Rhiannon

This is really good. Very sharp. Very focused. Confusing the imagery with the reality is a touch of genius and the brevity mimics the suddeness of the event brilliantly. 

Me? I think you could drop the first line - for me it doesn't pull its weight. The three remaining lines are so good on their own.
