EBB AND EVE

Ebb and Eve
Eve had retreated from the flow of her emotions
Into a sanctuary
In Serendipity.
Where elephants roamed free.
This was the moment she met Ebb
Ebb: straight out of her mission
Withdrawing the turquoise sea
From the baked shore.
They greeted each other lightly
and sat opposite of each other
across the chess board.
Though there was nothing light
Of Eve's disposition
A widow now
Her Adam long gone.
So she wore a heavy brown robe
Her thickened waist belted with a woven rod.
As was the custom
In the time of Adam and Eve.
"My world is raked."
Mighty Eve said.
Ebb considered Eve's words
Like a master chess player that she was
Or mistress of satranj!
As she was known in the Serendipity.
" And you and you alone invented
Motherhood: matriarchy,
yes no?"
"Yes." Replied Eve
Inventions alone won't bring
My lover back
My only possibility of mating
, being touched
In mine quin whiskers.
Venus' honeypot
is sweet no more
but soar.
Without my Adam.
Honeys and bees were not for Ebb
So she was confused.
"Check and Mate!"
Said Eve.
Ebb stood defeated
For the first time in
Her life.
Crowned was Eve
As the mistress of chess
Or master of satranj.
A wide smile appeared on
Eve's face,
The first one since the departure of her Adam.
Serendipitous was Eve.
