GETTING OLDER
By alp
- 1016 reads
And you, my dear, will never age.
Time will pass, but it will not change,
That special, unique part of you,
That still remains and shines so true.
We shouldn't long for yesterday,
While there's the here and now; today.
Time itself is a precious thing;
Treasure it, don't throw it away.
For after all, you are still you.
That person inside doesn't fade,
With every new line's appearance,
Upon your ageing masquerade.
Does the way you look upset you,
When you recall how you once were?
Priceless memories, yet painful,
For the emotions they can stir.
If I'd look at myself, and see,
That my face is worn and wrinkly,
I'd hope there'd still be part of me,
That believes in inner beauty.
