The Camera Steals A Thousand Smiles

The camera steals a thousand smiles
The
camera steals a thousand smiles
And then asks the
darkness for more
The clock that stopped, pocket
watch dropped
Leaves time divinely
sore
Your face has stolen a thousand
hearts
And then coerced several
more
A break and enter in my cardial
valves
Left me feeling torn
What
about the kiss that we never had
Do you touch your
lips some days?
I just said no, did that stop your
flow?
Or was I just a phase
Did I
offend when I stopped your smile
From ever touching
mine?
And did karma fight back when I broke the
watch
U gave me to find the
time
The camera finds a thousand
fears
And exploits them for all to
see
Every body flaw and each spent
tear
Is all we'll ever be
A
picture, a frame, a shelf in your room
Potent smoke
and mirrors
Propped against the clock to hide the
scar on its face
The sum of my thousand
fears
The camera steels a thousand
smiles
None of them truly real
And
the clock that stopped, discarded and dropped
Will
never truly heal
