all of a sudden the fireworks were over &
said significant other wanted to fuck another
so behind the scenes when s/he wasn’t looking
like bunnies in heat
thumping away in the dark &
lying about the new smell of cologne/perfume
rubbed all over them
lying about where they’d been
lying, no longer making eye contact &
s/he was left holding the bag
for being an idiot
s/he was left holding the bag
full of all that “trust” that had no place in this
world.
