Dave and Nick's Difficult Progress

Six months have passed so fast,
the days of leisure past.
The problems all identified,
solutions hard to find.

The benefits have caused a row,
but something must be done.
The sick must be looked after,
and the idle shown the door.

Retirement is a thorny one,
But no doubt about one thing.
The old are getting older now
and the jobs are very thin.

The schools are overcrowded,
and money is so short.
To educate the nation's young
the situation's fraught.

The military numbers must reduce
but by how much and when.
We must be wary of Iran
and other lands, not friends.

Amidst all this there's Europe
which causes so much pain.
All countries cut the maximum
and Europe wants a rise, insane!!

So Dave and Nick keep going,
there's so much to be done.
Without your perseverance
the battle won't be won!!
